The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. Responsibilities: Work on a next-generation Risk check platform in line with strategic business goals: Extend platform functionalities for existing systems per business requirements Expand platform processing capabilities by improving performance and stability Develop and deliver on application components to meet business needs Participate in architectural design and review of key application components Co-ordinate with the global team on platform build-out Work with business stakeholders on requirements analysis and solution design Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience developing on a distributed, high volume, global application in the financial industry (preferably on a trading platform) Strong grasp of fundamental computer science concepts: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and object-oriented design Proficiency in enterprise level application development using J2EE, Oracle (or comparable database) and Messaging infrastructure like Solace, Kafka, Tibco EMS Good knowledge of Distributed databases/ Caching technologies like Gemfire, Apache Ignite, Couchbase Knowledge of full software development and testing lifecycle Real-time, high frequency, low latency trading system experience is a strong plus Equities Risk Checks, Trading knowledge is a plus FIX protocol, Socket communication experience is a plus Education: Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
