Future Outlook of Pharmaceutical Engineering
The pharmaceutical industries have made an excellent progress in such a short span of time and are ready to boom further in coming years. The situation of these industries is not the same as they were during 60’s and 70’s. They are using innovative approach to rule the world of medicine. However, they require an array of skillful pharmaceutical professionals to make their dream come true.
The U.S. and European pharmaceuticals had been ruling the industry so far. But Asian countries increasing involvement in the pharmaceutical domain is a worldwide acknowledged fact. Pharmaceutical engineering is the subject of interest of these companies and specialized Pharmaceutical Engineers are in high demand. The companies are switching to off shoring rather than outsourcing to extract desirable Pharmaceutical Engineers.
The major challenges faced by Pharmaceutical companies are lack of skilled pharmaceutical professionals at times of need. This has led the companies to postpone their important projects. The Biotech industry is following new approaches to find talent to meet their requirements. Certainly, in coming years, there will be more and more number of professionals with PhDs and masters in Pharmaceutical Engineering. They will be on the topmost positions of these companies.
Presently pharmaceutical graduates are focusing more on cross functional skills like product development, design theory, quality system etc. Thus they generally prefer to begin their career with a small industry where they acquire business experience and get time to focus more on research work. Later on, they approach bigger companies.
With the increasing popularity of pharmaceutical, India and china are on the race of producing excellent science graduates. These emerging talents will definitely give a tough competition to US graduates. This has been further facilitated by the U.S. government who has introduced H-1B visas for Indian and Chinese Pharmaceutical Engineers. So, there is no denying fact that the future of pharmaceutical engineering is very bright.
