There is always a story behind everything and everyone. More often than not, that story is worth telling. Today I am writing about a story that needs to be told and is worth telling. The story of Junkyard Creations.
Junkyard Creations is a startup in the business of recycled, upcycled, and personalized fixtures, furniture, and accessories. They make a lot of stuff from pine wood like furniture, fixtures, planters, lamps. They even recycle old vehicle components into furniture, fixtures, and lamps. Junkyard Creations is a passion turned into a venture story by Mr. Christopher D’Cruz, a restaurateur for over two decades. He sold his successfully established Chinese restaurant Shandong in Bangalore and began pursuit of his passion for creativity.
Junkyard Creations was always something of a hobby for Chris. After selling the restaurant in early 2020, Chris has now been focusing on creating and building furniture, home decoratives, and other metal works which are both attractive and cost-effective. I have had the pleasure of knowing him for more than a decade and after having seen so many creative products, I decided to take a chance on his skills. I needed a workstation when the work from home situation began. Simple requirements – need a table for laptop & a widescreen monitor, and need a small shelf to keep my small collection of books & stationary.
It felt like someone had built me a fort. A fort of my own! Every acquisition of furniture, decor, or equipment for your house, rooms, offices, or any place you want it for, you buy it not just to feel comfortable, but also because it gives you an emotional satisfaction knowing that you own something that is as per your needs. I had to give him an overall idea of all these.
