Making Yourself Untouchable at Your Workplace
[ad_1]
To become untouchable and take control of affairs in these tough times, you have to figure out how to be accepted by making the smartest decisions and devise a concrete action plan that will help you achieve your goals. Before l proceed further let me quickly say this; there is no better antidote than hard work, if you really want to make yourself untouchable at your workplace. But if you care to follow these steps I am about to reveal, it will greatly help you in your quest towards being a fire-proof employee throughout your career as a paid worker.
The first step is to cultivate a good working relationship with both your employer and co-workers. One thing l have observed over the years is that employees are liked in the course of carrying out their job diligently; often retain them, even if they are less competent at their work. This is very important especially if you are new in the organization and just trying to establish your potentials. You should also acquaint yourself with what your employer prefers as against what he dislikes. If he is the type that requires feedback at the end of every accomplished task or the type that is after good and prompt results.
Almost all the employers I have come across, like to hold on to their best staff. No good employer like to substitute intelligence with mediocre. After having this at the back of your mind, you can then master the art of focusing on your employer’s priority and refuse to be distracted by any side comments. Trying your best as much as possible by working hard and being up to date on your job will always give you a cutting-edge. This can be achieved by improving your skills and learning new things by attending seminars, workshops, good record keeping lectures and acquiring mentorship in your field. In the course of doing all these, without you knowing your boss will be getting report of your diligence. Coming back to mentorship in your field, it is always good to have a mentor in your career to guide and protect you. Mentors have proven to be a good shoulder to lean on when you get to crossroads in your career. If you can get a proven and successful mentor to guide and counsel you, then the better for you.
Be prudent, cost effective and financially intelligent in your financial transactions. Employers do not like reckless spending especially when employees are entrusted with money to carry out official assignments. They are happy dealing with any staff they can trust when it comes to delivering good accountability. This is where good record keeping and financial discipline come in and your integrity must be unquestionable, clean and you must be undoubtedly trusted in this sensitive area. Hear this, knowing and doing what is expected of you to do at your workplace can not make your employer over- look this aspect.
After safe guiding and taken these steps you can be rest assured that you have better chances of keeping your job than the other employees who do not.
